Our Mission Statement
Boyle Arts Festival is dedicated to the provision of the best in the performing and visual arts and to present a culturally enriching schedule of visual arts, music, literature, drama and family events, featuring exponents of national and international significance. The festival seeks to make the arts more accessible to a broad range of people, to give prominence to young, emerging Irish artists, both visual and performing, and to link with local arts groups in programming and organising events

Boyle Arts Festival is run by a voluntary committee, which for 2019 are:
Chairperson: Gerry Kielty – on committee 7 years
A retired head teacher, Gerry has participated in the recent Arts Council plans for education. He has a particular interest in the visual and performing arts.
Vice Chair: Irene Madden- on Committee 23 years
Irene works in insurance but loves working with the Arts. She is interested in new and up and coming talent as well as the well established artists and thinks that the Festival is very important to the town and the community by making art and entertainment more accessible to everyone.
Treasurer: Belinda McCauley – on committee 6 years.
Belinda has a background in Financial Services and a keen interest in the performing Arts. She was a founder member of Boyle Musical Society and an active member of various Drama groups, performing on stage in her earlier career.
Administrator: Christine Kelly -on Committee 14 years
Christine joined the committee in 2005 as administrator working for Roscommon County Council. With a background in finance, she has worked in tourism and the arts since moving to Ireland in 2002 and is currently working in Arts Administration for Leitrim County Council. Her interests are in History and Archaeology and the Visual Arts.
Open Art & Community: Patricia Golden –on Committee 14 years
Patricia is actively involved in promoting and marketing rural tourism, small scale business and local arts & craft producers. The Úna Bhán Traditional Craft shop attracts over 9,000 visitors per annum and showcases over 95 local small scale craft producers. Patricia organises and manages an award winning weekly Boyle Farmers Market with over 17 local producers. This is an extremely important outlet to create accessible selling opportunities for their products / produce, thus stimulating the local rural economy. Heavily involved in numerous community festivals, events and activities Patricia is a member of Roscommon Tourism network, Enterprise & Rural sustainability planning group, Boyle Town Team, Boyle Musical Society, Boyle Courthouse Development Committee and Boyle Summer Show committee. Patricia organises and manages the open art exhibition during Boyle Arts Festival, which provides an extremely important forum for artists who may find few opportunities to display their work to include over one hundred part-time, full-time and occasional artists, giving a unique blend and standard of excellence
Marketing & PR: Brendan McGee -on committee 9 years
Brendan McGee has been a member of Boyle Arts Festival Committee since 2010 and is responsible for press releases for both BAF and Boyle Musical Society. A keen interest in the Arts, particularly Film, Electronic music, Photography, Spoken Word and local art. Author of press and advertising releases for the Festival since joining. Also press officer for the local Boyle Musical Society.
Visual Arts Coordinator: Brian Doherty – on committee 2 years
An entrepreneur and graduate of both UCD and TCD, Brian Doherty has been successfully self employed within the hospitality sector for 30 years. His special areas of interest are the Visual Arts and Classical Music and he has participated in the recent Arts Council strategic reviews
