When you look at the Boyle River what you see are reflections of the sky and surroundings.  But do you know what lives beneath the surface and what it is doing there?

This introductory field trip will open your eyes to the rich ecology and biodiversity of this underwater world. The field trip will be led by Tom Carolan of LAWPRO (Local Authorities Water Programme).

Tom is the Communities Officer for Mayo and North Roscommon. Participants should wear suitable outdoor clothing. Further information is available from Tom. 085-8709612.

There will have 2 options on the day depending on the weather.

Option 1, is to carry out the kick sampling in the centre of the town at a suitable place in the river, but this is dependent on the rainfall leading up to the 29^th.

Option 2, is for the group to meet at the Soccer club for 2.30, we can do the kick sampling in the stream that runs alongside the club grounds. This is more suitable if rainfall is high.

The decision on which option to go with, will be made on the 24th July.
