Carole Coleman in conversation with Kingston Mills ***Online ***


 Carole Coleman is back in the chair for the sixth BAF ‘In Conversation With…’ series.
The Carrick-on-Shannon native presents ‘This Week’, Ireland’s longest-running current affairs
programme, and World Report on RTE Radio One. Since March 2020 she has reported extensively on the Coronavirus pandemic interviewing ministers and scientists about each twist and turn. Carole has also held the post of Education and Environment correspondent and Washington Correspondent at the national broadcaster. She is the author of a number of books including a forthcoming Journalist’s diary of the first lockdown from March – June 2020. She is also a member of Reeds, a group of local Leitrim musicians.
Kingston Mills is Professor of Experimental Immunology, Director of The Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute at Trinity College Dublin and Head of the Trinity COVID-19 Research hub. He is a graduate of TCD and trained at as a Postdoctoral Fellow at University College London and the National Institute for Medical Research, London. He returned to Ireland in 1993 to take up an academic position at Maynooth University. He was appointed to a Personal Chair at Trinity College Dublin in 2001 and was Head of the School of Biochemistry and Immunology from 2008-2011. He won the Science Foundation Ireland Irish Researcher of the Year award in 2020. He heads an active research team  focusing on immunity to infection and autoimmune diseases.
